Hey there

I'm Rachel Marchica

I’m the founder of MTC and NYC based freelance writer and dancer.

Welcome! I’ve always been fascinated with dance, the process of movement, the stories and meaning behind it. I grew up an introverted child and dance was my outlet. It connected me to something much larger than myself and was the thing that made me feel the most alive. My passion for dance was also accompanied by all sorts of struggles; anxiety, injuries, and disordered eating to name a few. I created this blog as an open space to share my journey and speak with industry leaders, professionals, and colleagues on all things dance, with an emphasis on health and well-being. My goal is to provide a spark of inspiration for the next generation of artists, art-makers, and dance enthusiasts. I hope this blog can serve as a place to both cultivate community and start conversations.

I hold a BFA in Dance and Certificate in Arts Management from the University of Massachusetts Amherst. Upon graduation, I completed the Dance Training + Art Administration internship with the Jose Limon Dance Company. You can find me teaching Gyrotonic and mat pilates as well as pursing both freelance dance and writing opportunities throughout the city. Feel free to contact here.
